WJ Demo Derby...with a side of WT...

Tommy and I have met some great friends in our ward who are in our same stage of life. Newly Weds and pregnant with our first babies. Carley and Heber Eastman live right around the corner from us and we do so many fun things with them like: walks to the snowie, golfing, shopping for the baby, dinners on sundays, and this year they invited us to the their favorite outing of the year...
THE WEST JORDAN DEMOLITION DERBY!!!!
This is a serious summer event that we plan on attending from now on. We started with a fun BBQ at the Eastman's and then all piled in the car to head to my old stomping grounds...good Ole' WJ! Woot Woot!
The group we went with was such a blast and provided entertainment during heats for the demo derby... I mean these guys are serious.

Most of these guys had been growing their beards out for a couple of months just for this event...and please notice the guy with the blonde mullet in the middle...he purposefully put BBQ stains on his white t-shirt. Classy! They were up dancing and we were all singing along to all of the songs during the breaks. And of course you have to choose which car is going to win that heat...BEFORE

and the Aftermath...

It was just a great event and brought out the WHITE TRASH in all who attended! We can't wait to go next year because it was by far the best Demo Derby Tommy and I had ever attended. And can I just say...Way to represent WJ...of course I can it's my blog!!! Classy as usual WJ!

Date Night...With Papa Gene and Mommy Pam!

It was Friday night and I was sitting at work, yet I had been mentally checked out since about Wednesday...(you would be to if you had my job,) when I get a call from my mom asking if Tommy and I can meet she and my dad for dinner at 6:30 at the District. I was so bummed because I had to decline the offer even though I was STARVING.
But moments later...the heavens opened and the stars aligned and there was nobody left to call for the night and it was 6:25. I was done with work for the week one half hour earlier than normal...this may seem small but, during those weeks that feel like they may never end this was a tender mercy as I like to call them. So I immediately called my mom and told her we were in and then called Tommy who was on his way home from a hard day of golfing at South Mountain and told him we were headed to....
I think Red Robin has good food... nothing amazing but I had been craving some fries and an Oreo Shake ALL DAY so this was PERFECT...their bottomless fries are so so good.
After enjoy a great meal and great conversation...my mom and I headed into some of the stores to look around while my dad and Tommy waited patiently outside.
After browsing with my mom and getting a new maternity dress that was MUCH needed, Tommy said some of my favorite words...
Let's go to...
Tommy likes shopping and is really good at it...he can get sick of it really quickly, but no matter where we are he loves a good Nordstrom Rack outing. He probably doesn't love it as much as my sister-in-law Lindsey or niece Zoie, but he loves it and always finds an awesome deal!

It was such a fun date night and we love spending time with my parents who are always so much fun to hang out with and spend time with. We really are lucky to have them so close to us and be able to see them often and go out to dinner with them or go to dinner at their house or watch the Biggest Loser with them or go to movies with them or go on trips with them. Tommy and I talk often about how lucky we are to have such good relationships with both sets of parents. So thanks for inviting us to your date night Mommy Pam and Papa Gene! We LOVE YOU!

Summer Summer Summer TIME....

Ummm... I love summer. Like a lot...a lot! And I especially love summer nights. So what better way to end a hot summer night than with a rather LARGE Bon Fire...Roasting Hot Dogs...Chowing on some delicious s'mores...and a dip in the pool...I don't think it gets better than this!

Thursday night of last week was AWESOME!!! Tommy and Cam planned the whole night. Cam and Cute Alyssa drove up from Provo to have a double date with an old married couple. They are just so cute and fun...We really love Cam because he is like our little brother and have decided that if he screws things up with Alyssa he is an idiot! haha

Aren't they just SOOO cute??? No pressure though Cam.
I have to admit that I was REALLY proud of Tommy Boy because as much as he HATES/LOATHES smelling like Campfire...he can make a dang great BON FIRE!!! Maybe a little too good because it was literally so hot I was sweating...which isn't unusual these days, and Tommy had to hide behind the benches to roast our hot dogs...So Funny!
I just love this boy...he makes me laugh all the time and is so much fun to be around and treats me like a queen even when I dress in baggy shorts and florescent tank tops over my swimming suit...(just a little WT) and eat so much it's probably embarrassing for him. He is just so great!

We had such a great time and loved doubling with Cam and Alyssa and hope we get to do it again soon. We are also so lucky that Marty and Kim are SOOO great to let us come over and use their backyard for our entertainment!!! It was a Top Night...TOP NIGHT!
